What is a "wet landing" in Fiji?
Many smaller islands (like Castaway, Mana, and Kuata) do not have concrete jetties. The speedboat gently noses onto the sandy beach, and guests step into calf-deep warm water. Wear reef shoes, sandals, or flip-flops!
What happens if my international flight is delayed?
If your Sydney (FJ910) or Melbourne (FJ914) flight is delayed, notify BulaTap or the captain via WhatsApp. If the pool hasn't departed, the captain will often hold the vessel, or roll your escrow credit to the next available group run.
How much luggage can I bring on a split speedboat?
Each seat includes 1 large suitcase (up to 25kg) and 1 personal carry-on backpack. Vessels have watertight forward lockers to keep bags completely dry during sea crossings.
Are your skippers and boats safety licensed?
Yes. Every vessel listed on BulaTap is registered with the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF), carries lifejackets, VHF marine radios, and is captained by licensed local island mariners.
